House search 101

The other day Geoff and I were driving back to my place from my parents and we saw a for sale sign. Because of the economy black hole that seems to be going on we have decided we want to buy a house but not until the end of the year. So we have been looking here and there just to see what the price range is like around the Bloominghills area where we would like to live.

Anyways we passed this house and didnt stop. We decided to turn around and go back just to see what it looked like. Mind you this is the first house that we actually got out of the car to see if we could see in the windows. To my amazement the house is empty and better yet it has an amazing yard. The lot is a third of an acre. The house is a little run down but it could be fixed up nicely. We call the real estate agent that is listed on the house and guess what. It is in our price range. I call that fate.

So yesterday Geoff and I went and met with a Mortgage officer just to see if we could qualify for a loan and see what the payments would be. We qualify! Not that either of us doubted that we would. But the nice thing was that the payment for the house would only be $200.00 more then I am paying on my town house right now. That is still an afordable price for us. We now have to decide if this is really something that we want to do. It just came to easy and that makes me want to consider it some more. It is never that easy to get something that you want. There was no work put into it.
